Rowett to make keeper call
Burton boss Gary Rowett is weighing up whether to sign another goalkeeper ahead of Aldershot's visit to the Pirelli Stadium.
Mark Oxley needs an operation after breaking a bone in his hand during the FA Cup first-round replay at Altrincham on Thursday. Oxley, on loan from Hull, could be out for up to eight weeks and joins fellow keeper Stuart Tomlinson (knee) on the sidelines.
Rowett, who has taken the precaution of registering veteran goalkeeping coach Kevin Poole as additional cover, could make a loan signing. Otherwise, he will pick from Dean Lyness, who made his full debut against Dagenham & Redbridge on Saturday, or Ross Atkins.
A third match in six days could see changes to the starting line-up, with Marcus Holness and Cleveland Taylor among those pushing for recalls after dropping to the bench against the Daggers.
Fit-again captain John McGrath, fellow midfielder Jack Dyer and strikers Justin Richards and Matthew Paterson are also options for Rowett.
Aldershot manager Dean Holdsworth has no new injury or suspension problems.
Defender Anthony Tonkin returned from suspension in the weekend draw with AFC Wimbledon and new signing Dani Lopez, who arrived on loan recently from Stevenage, made his full debut.
Both players are expected to retain their places in the starting line-up, with Lopez and Danny Hylton set to resume their partnership up front after an encouraging display at the weekend.
Leading goalscorer Craig Reid remains sidelined with a knee injury.
Midfielder Adam Mekki returned to the substitutes' bench last week after injury and is pushing for a recall, but Olly Lancashire (abdomen), Ross Worner (back) and Craig Stanley (broken leg) remain sidelined as the Shots chase their first league win in five matches.
