John Mousinho misses Burton's EFL Cup clash with Liverpool
Burton captain John Mousinho will miss the visit of Liverpool in the EFL Cup through injury.
Mousinho was forced off with a hamstring problem during the league draw against Blackburn on Saturday and could also be a doubt for Friday's home game with Derby.
With that Championship clash in mind, Brewers boss Nigel Clough is expected to make a few changes and the likes of Hamza Choudhury, Lee Williamson, Calum Butcher, Damien McCrory and Marcus Harness will come into contention to start.
Kyle McFadzean was on the receiving end of a series of knocks at Blackburn but he is expected to be fit while Tom Flanagan (thigh) could return after missing out at the weekend
Recent signing John Brayford is cup-tied having played for Sheffield United in the previous round.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp will not make significant changes to his side.
Defender Joel Matip and midfielders Marko Grujic and Emre Can are set to come in, providing the latter has no issues with a minor back complaint.
Striker Divock Origi will also probably get his first start of the season.
Klopp said: "We will make changes but not big changes, it is not really likely we change seven or eight positions.
"Of course we respect the opponent but it is not the moment to rest someone but we have a few players who are now in a good shape and they have two weeks' more pre-season, if you like, more to train.
"I cannot give all players together the opportunity to play
Sometimes we have to work longer to change the situation.
"Of course each week in which they can't or didn't play it is not too good for a player but that is how it is in football, you accept this when you start playing the game.
"The only thing a player can do is work as hard as possible, to perform in each session and then the manger has to make a decision."
