Vale and Albion share spoils
Port Vale kept up their promising start under returning boss Micky Adams with a point from a 1-1 draw at Staffordshire neighbours Burton.
It could have been all three on the road for the second time in four days but substitute Rob Taylor was unable to convert a late chance.
Aaron Webster put Burton ahead in the 23rd minute when he timed his run at the back post to head in a Chris Palmer corner kick.
A full-length save by Stuart Tomlinson denied Calvin Zola a second goal for the hosts in the 40th minute - and within seconds Vale were back on level terms.
Doug Loft found himself on the end of a swift breakaway attack and punished Burton's loose defending with a low shot from 20 yards.
Tom Pope had a chance to put the visitors in front in the 52nd minute but Ross Atkins came to Burton's rescue with a fine reaction save.
Jacques Maghoma twice went close for the home side, but Vale finished the stronger side only for Taylor to fluff his chance in the 81st minute.
